Blog Master noticed that there is a special word "安" written on the envelope package

Meaning of 安 :

(1)平安，没有变故或危险

(2)平静；安定

(3)使安定不乱

quiet; peaceful; calm
to be safe; to be in good health
to pacify; to set at ease
to place in a suitable position
to be satisfied
security; safety

Its a simple chinese word with lots of valuable meanings..to apply for posatge delivery process, for both Seller and Customer...safe & peaceful mindset



Hmm...Even our Japanese Supplier can be superstition...praying for good luck for the package to arrive safely to the hands of all his oversea customers & at the same time...it can give him a peace of mind ...to relax that the postage delievery will go smoothly without any problem ...very interesting practice

Only in Japan -- vending machine that grows vegetables without sunlight

STOMPer Abby came across an article about a vending machine in Japan which can grow 20,000 heads of lettuce a day without a single ray of sunlight. However, it doesn't come cheap, she says.

Wrote Abby in her email contribution (Nov 2):

"20,000 heads of lettuce a year... 60 heads of lettuce a day.

"Twelve 40-watt bulbs... Lots of water and electricity consumed.

"USD90,000 to purchase... Up to five different types of vegetables can be grown at the same time.


"It's called 'Chef's Farm' and it is manufactured by Dentsu Facility Management Inc.

"Perhaps this machine will retail for cheaper in the future when our fields have all been converted to housing and industrial plots.

"Right now, only the top-notch restaurants (in Japan?) can afford it.

"It's not purely automatic though, the seed beds still need to be moved manually, and probably cleaned; although the environment for each seed bed can be controlled.



"However, I wonder if we get lesser nutrients from these vegetables than from those grown under the sun.

"I wonder how these vegetables taste and which restaurant in Japan can I sample them."

For real? Arcade machine at Golden Mile offers iPhone 4 as prize

STOMPer Belinda was impressed to find an iPhone 4 as one of the prizes up for grabs inside this claw crane machine at Golden Mile Food Centre.

Said the STOMPer:
"I saw this at Golden Mile Food Centre. From plushies to now iPhones!"

Arcade machine at Golden Mile: Prized iPhone 4 won !!

After reading about the arcade machine at Golden Mile Food Centre which offers an iPhone 4 as a prize, STOMPer Ashley tried her hand at winning. She walked away with the phone after an hour.

It is not known if the arcade machine vendor will replenish the prize.

The STOMPer informs us (Oct 8):
"Here's my follow-up to the iPhone 4 in the claw machine.Went there during lunch time today, and after playing together with my friends for an hour or so, I got the phone."

Wild guess for next new Champion card ...

"the only unknown now is whether will we have the new Champion Shark for tournament prize .... i think not .... seems like two version for a new Champion Card launch .... probably in Version 6 ..... end Feb to mid Mar 2011" ~ spaceshuttle
