Just over the weekend, we kicked off the first week of Animal Kaiser 7-Eleven qualifiers at four great locations around Singapore! It was amazing to see so many fans, supporters, participants and families – with those under 13 years of age pitting their skills in the Children Category, followed by their elder siblings and even parents, fighting it out in the Adult Category.

Did I just hear you ask, what is Animal Kaiser? Horror of horrors! It’s perhaps the biggest thing going on right now, with the tournament’s Grand Finals barely two weeks away on 19 March at United Square! This will be happening during the Animal Kaiser Fiesta 2010 that kicks off 16 March at the same location!

Animal Kaiser was born back in August 2007 when NAMCO BANDAI Games Inc. deployed the first machines throughout Japan. Since then, it has taken the world by storm, not only due to the novel idea of data Carddass machines at that time, but simply because it is great fun for all ages – combining strategy, fun graphics, and was a successful fusion of trading card games (TCG) and arcade game stations

AH-WOOO! Gray Wolf cards! I want one too!

Furthermore, Animal Kaiser fans enjoy the real-world thrill of collecting and trading cards – it’s great to admire the sheer awesomeness of your deck’s unrivalled power and great artwork. See this checklist for all the cards you can collect! Think of it as a game that exists in two worlds – in the arcade machine and in your trading card album. Whatever you do in the real world affects your battles in the virtual world - so just imagine this as a crossover, multi-dimension game – how innovative and cool is that??

So many cool cards! Many AK fans brought their card collections for battle and to trade!

In July 2008, Animal Kaiser finally arrived on the sunny island of Singapore and has been quietly but steadily growing a fan base. It was so popular that the game refused to be confined to arcades alone and made their presence known with some 200 game kiosks at iEcon minimarts and 7-Eleven stores as of June 2009.

Fast forward to present day – the first-ever Animal Kaiser Tournament and awesome 4-day fiesta that’s loaded with fun-filled activities will hit our shores these March school holidays AND we will be GOING DOWN IN HISTORY as it is the FIRST OF ITS KIND outside of Japan!

So come join us for your healthy dose of Animal Kaiser!

Check out our schedules for the second round of the 7-Eleven qualifying rounds this Sunday, 14 March, and the main event that’s happening the following week from 16 till 20 March at United Square! (opposite Novena MRT station)

So many cards to collect, so many battles to win, so many AK fans!
