Black bear @ Singapore Street ?
This bear was spotted on at the bus stop along ulu pandan road....
A video of a strange, bear-like creature spotted along Ulu Pandan Road is creating a huge stir online.
The video — which was uploaded on citizen journalism site Stomp and which remains unverified — shows a blurry, dark shape standing over a bus-stop dustbin along Ulu Pandan Road.
When contacted by The New Paper, the person who uploaded the video, Philip3D, said he and his son were driving along the area when they saw what looked like “a big dog or some sort of creature”.
“‘After it caught sight of us and started heading our way, it made sense to drive off without hesitation,” he said, before adding it had been “a close shave”.
In the 11-second video, someone can be heard saying, “Eh, how come Singapore got bear one, ah?” before a hurried “let’s go, let’s go” as the creature looks in his direction.
Meanwhile, the Wildlife Reserves Singapore (WRS) said on Wednesday that it is still seeking clearer pictures of the creature and more information from the public on the sighting.
According to the WRS, no bears have escaped from the premises of its parks, which include the Singapore Zoo and the Night Safari. The zoo is home to the Malayan sun bear and polar bear, and the sloth bear resides in the Night Safari.
WRS said it was unable to verify the authenticity of the bear sighting, adding, “To our knowledge, there has been no prior report of wild bear sightings in Singapore in recent times.”
And yet, footage of the mystery creature has definitely got Singaporeans talking.
Some netizens are speculating that the bear-like creature may in fact be a Binturong, also known as the Asian bearcat, that is native to the region. A specimen of the animal was found in Bukit Panjang and taken to the Singapore Zoo in 2004.
Bear, Binturong or a clever hoax, you be the judge.
The Truth....
"This is most likely a fake one, maybe a robotic bear because firstly, the bears kept in Singapore Zoo and Night Safari are the Polar Bear, Sun Bear and the Sloth Bear, but the Polar Bear is white, not black, and the Sun Bear is a small sized bear. Its tallest height is at a human’s waist, so it is definitely not a Sun Bear. The Sloth Bear is also a small sized bear, which is a little bit larger than the Sun Bear"

"its a costume, movement unnatural and the face and shape looks fake"

"I think it's a fake! My reasons:
1) The Bear's jaw never seemed to changed it's position.
2) When was the last time a wild bear was spotted in Singapore?
3) The guy didn't sound scared at all.
4) If it was real, would the guy have gone soo close to a carnivore, film it for 10 seconds and then realise he was in danger?
5) The bear could've easily outrun him"

News Report :
SINGAPORE - Sighted at Ulu Pandan Road at 2am Monday morning, the "bear" that had set curators from the Wildlife Reserves Singapore on a wild bear chase, turns out to be a man in costume, reported the Straits Times.
The local newspaper reported that the "bear" was a mascot that was part of a guerilla advertising campaign, commissioned by Philips Electronics Singapore, to launch a new shaver.
The electronics company had employed a social media agency, The Secret Little Agency, to film someone in a custom-made bear suit. The video was first uploaded on citizen journalism website STOMP by Philip3D who said he was driving along the road with his son when the spotted the animal near a dustbin.
According to a statement, Philips said it had anticipated that the bear would draw attention but it had no intention of causing alarm. However, it is also understood that the agency had not alerted any authorities about the campaign, though it did make enquiries as to whether a permit was required to wear an "animal mascot outfit".
The police is now investigating the incident. If what happened was an offence of public nuisance under Section 268 of the Penal Code, the company can by fined up to $1,000
