Experience King Kong fight the classic monsters of Skull Island.
Filmed July 1st 2010. (Opening Day)
Studio Tour guests don 3-D glasses as the tram enters a sound stage dressed as a recreation of Skull Island. After an attack by prehistoric bats, visitors encounter Kong himself, and witness his confrontation with a T-Rex. The tram is then thrown down a pit.
King Kong: 360 3-D is an attraction which is included in the Studio Tour at Universal Studios Hollywood. The attraction takes guests to a recreated version of Skull Island from Peter Jackson's 2005 King Kong film. It employs audio animatronics as well as 3-D HD imagery on two 200-foot (61 m) wide screens resulting in an immersive two and a half minute film. The attraction replaced King Kong Encounter which was burnt down in 2008. King Kong: 360 3-D made its debut on the Studio Tour on July 1, 2010.
