Killer Whale

Page 36
"Interestingly , a killer whale community is dominated by its females. Female killer whales establish control and indicate their dominance by slapping their tails against the water ,head-butting ,snapping their jaws and biting , among other aggressive gestures. Fortunately ,for kikller whales ,the injuries fromn the females' display of power are usually superficial and heal quickly"

" Killer whales may be playful active creatures but on the flip side ,it is important to remember that killer whales are apex predators of the sea. Safely at the top of the food chain ,killer whales have no natural predator. Hence, it is no wonder that they feed on a diverse variety of marine mammals like seals ,sea lions, sharks and even other whales"
