Today saw an incident at Timezone which left me a very deep impression.
There was an old uncle around early 60s playing AK and he mentioned it is for his grandson’s collection. My son on the non express AK machine, old man on express machine and there is a father and son waiting behind us.
After playing for some time, the man’s son asked my son if he can play for 2 games on the machine which my son is playing. I step in and mentioned there is a empty AK machine so to play there. The 2nd card came out a silver card and my thought was my son played over 20 games and knowing silver card is near, you want to take it.
Now the old man was playing the express lane and he keep asking them if they want to play and they just let him play. Then i heard them telling the old man that he has to stop as they want to play. i know what is going to happen and 2 games after they take over, silver card. They let the old man continue after they got the silver card then i told the old man not to show the cards which he got from the machine. After no idea how many cards, same thing and the pair ask the old man to stop. i step in and mentioned that since they have let him play for so long, let him play 3 more games. The pair replied one more and i knew what will happen and i just mentioned to the old man to play 2 more games but he is more giving. Scorch is the next card and it is not their first.
Is AK good or bad learning for the kids. If the other party is not an old man then maybe i do not feel so bad but seeing an old man playing for his grandson’s collection and after playing for no idea how many games, i really feel for him. I like the express lane concept but sometimes it can back fire when you have to move out after your 3 turns are over or someone know the next card is a good card and wants to take over.
when you are in the express lane, you have to respect the rules. i just do not feel that kids are enjoying the game any more and just listening to the adult to only play when a good card is coming.
My son moving to beyblade as everyone will have a chance to play when you are in line and do not have to stress or worry what will happen next.

HELLO . Post the right facts ok.
Firstly, my son ask your son very politely whether can play anot. We never force him physically or verbally to let us play.
Ok nvm so we go play express lane and you want to ka jiao. MYOB lah. The old man HOG the express lane for so long, so we ask him politely that its our turn. nothing wrong ok
Since you are in the EXPRESS LANE , u should know the rules. IF you do not move and I call the staff over, U also lan lan have to give your turn. SO i do not see anything wrong with this. Y u make a mountain out of molehill.
The old man can go play in NON express lane if he really wants to hog onto a machine ok.

Old man hog the express lane? I remember he keep asking if you want to play but you just let him go with it until you know the good card is coming.
yes your son never physically and verbally force my son to go but the objective is not correct. I do not need to teach a parent how to educate their children upbring in the right way. If they want to teach their kids the wrong way, the future is for them to see.
This is where usually kids have fun but slowly it is turning into ‘war zone’ because of their money making scheme.

come on, dun fight just over a game
~ Cheapest AK cards in town!!!!!! :)
Ya, sad to say some adults are making use of their kids to get good cards. This is a bad influence to the kids. Imagine in future, the kids will learn from their parents. They will make use of their friends/relatives to gain their own interest. Actually in my opinion, AK has more bad than good.

desmond you know your own ‘intent’ ... do us and yourself a great favour here .... dun treat the kids and the old man like that .... that’s all we are requesting .... a reasonable request.
if you are having fun with your kids in AK ... we could share the joy. otherwise leave the kids and old man alone. this is how you treat an old man?? .... this will be how you will be treated when you become the old man .... please don’t.

Exactly the same reason why my kids are so turn off by AK.
Actually, it is not the fault of the game, it is the adults that spoilt the game.
The sequence is to help you know if you should continue playing if you want to get a particular card. Or to clear a particular deck to get the card you want...It is not to be used as a tool to get a foil card at the cheapest possible way, at the expense of someone else.
The latter would mean hanging around the AK machines longer than what is healthy and looking for victims to clear the deck for you. Worst, if this is done in the name of your child. Please continue to choose what examples you want to set for your kid but dont make it sound so honourable when we all know the hidden agenda.
